Is smart ring company Circular in the process of shutting down? A comment on the Circular Ring 2’s Kickstarter page, and a subsequent post on Reddit, brought to light some information that appeared to indicate the firm was in trouble.

Android Police contacted Circular to get the full story, and although it doesn’t seem to be as feared, it doesn’t mean the company is free from problems.

What has got owners worried?

Two links were shared which appear to show the French company is in trouble. On the French website Pappers, which is used to publish legal papers, a document listed Circular has been in the process of “judicial liquidation” since November 2025.

A second site, Societe Info, which is also in French, provided the same information but dated back to mid-October 2025. Rarely does the word liquidation in the business world mean anything good, and given Circular has had some reputational problems since the release of the Circular Ring 2. there were concerns from owners.

Android Police asked Circular what the situation was, whether smart ring owners should be concerned, and if not, why was the company listed on these websites. The company responded with the following.

Last year the business was restructured and relocated to Hong Kong to be closer to production facilities. A new entity, Circular Health Limited, was established, with the same founders continuing to lead the company from Hong Kong where they now reside.

Circular continues to operate as normal with no impact on customers, and some engineering and marketing roles remain in France.

With the restructuring complete, the legacy French entity was closed at the end of last year. The liquidation notice you’re seeing is simply the standard legal process required when formally closing a French corporate entity.

Nothing to worry about?

Circular’s explanation, provided there’s nothing more to it, makes sense, and it’s nothing new for companies to change offices and locations. Does this mean all is well with Circular and the Circular Ring 2?

The replies to the Reddit post raising concerns over the company’s status gives an insight into how some buyers feel about the company and the Circular Ring 2.

Comments include, “Is this the end of the scam?,” “Glad to be done with the ring and company,” and “Nothing would surprise me about this company, good or bad.”

Looking for positive feedback

The Circular Ring Slim on a middle finger

It’s hard to find a positive post about the Circular Ring 2, even after going back several months through the subreddit, including where one Redditor shared an image of Circular’s two-star rating (a 1.4-star rating at the time of writing) on Trustpilot, and a reply saying “I’m shocked it’s that high.”

Unfortunately, the most recent responses to the Kickstarter campaign, which now total more than 10,000, are also relatively negative. That said, it’s more common for bad experiences to be shared, so this may not be representative of all Circular Ring 2 owner’s experiences.

At this stage, according to Circular, there’s no need to worry about the company suddenly closing its doors. However, based on public responses to the initial worry, there are reasons to be concerned about the product and ongoing customer satisfaction.
