Python | Numpy MaskedArray.__iadd__

numpy.ma.MaskedArray class is a subclass of ndarray designed to manipulate numerical arrays with missing data. With the help of Numpy MaskedArray.__iadd__ we can add a particular value that is provided as a parameter in the MaskedArray.__iadd__() method. Value will be added to each and every element in a numpy array.

Syntax: numpy.MaskedArray.__iadd__(other)

Return: Add other to self in-place.

Example #1 :
In this example we can see that each and every element in an array is added with the value given as a parameter in method MaskedArray.__iadd__(). Remember one thing it wouldn’t work for double type values.

# import the important module in python
import numpy as np

# make an array with numpy
gfg = np.ma.array([1, 2, 3, 4.7, 5.2])

# applying MaskedArray.__iadd__() method
print(gfg.__iadd__(5))

Output:

[  6.    7.    8.    9.7  10.2]

Example #2:

# import the important module in python
import numpy as np

# make an array with numpy
gfg = np.ma.array([[1, 2, 3, 4, 5],
                [6, 5, 4, 3, 2]])

# applying MaskedArray.__iadd__() method
print(gfg.__iadd__(5))

Output:

[[ 6  7  8  9 10]
 [11 10  9  8  7]]
