Not everyone is looking to spend $1,000+ on a new smartphone. Although flagship products are nice, many folks just want a phone that looks good, is packed with features, and doesn’t cost a whole lot. Luckily, budget and mid-range phones have gotten a lot better over the past few years, making them a viable option. And now, one of our favorites is dropping to a price that can no longer be ignored.

So good, it will make you forget about your flagship

The Moto G Stylus 2025 is a phone that we really loved when we first reviewed it, and has only gotten better as time has passed, allowing us to really appreciate this device for all it’s worth. Motorola has always been pretty good when it comes to making mid-range or budget phones, but it really hit it out of the park with this one.

What’s the hardware like?

When it comes to the looks, you’re getting standard Motorola here, offering a sleek design that’s not going to stand out much in a crowd. However, you get a large 6.7-inch pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a decently powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip that’s paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The battery life is great, easily going a full day, and the 68W wired charging speed ensures you won’t have much downtime if you need to find an outlet. You also get 15W wireless charging, which isn’t as fast, but it is convenient. The cameras are pretty good too, with a 50MP main shooter and 13MP ultrawide.

It also has a stylus

If all of that wasn’t enough, the phone has a built-in stylus, which can be rare to find these days. You can pop the stylus out to jot down notes or even use it to sketch out your ideas. There’s software built around the accessory, so it can definitely can come in handy if you’re looking to use it in a regular basis.

What’s the catch?

Well, if we did want to complain about something, it would probably be the software. While the OS is pretty good, offering a fairly clean Android experience, it’s the updates that are lacking. While other brands are providing five to seven years of support for their products, Motorola has committed to just two with this model.

Now, it isn’t a huge deal considering the price of the phone, which sits at just $285 for Black Friday. However, it is something to be aware of if you intend to keep this phone for more than five years. The phone won’t stop working after its last update, but there will come a time when things stop working, and that will come sooner than later.

But as we stated before, this phone can easily become most people’s daily driver. And it does it at a price that’s easy to afford. While its $400 retail price is good, we like it even more right now thanks to its new lower price.
