There’s something satisfying about being able to pick up a phone or tablet, and getting in a quick gaming session when you just have a small window of time. It’s never going to replace a home console or gaming PC, but adding a controller to the mix does allow you to elevate the experience, by providing the ability to take on more challenging games that require more precise controls.
We’ve tested our fair share of controllers over the past couple of years, and while there are a lot of great options, we think that there are definitely some that stand out from the rest. The Razer Kishi Ultra is one such model, featuring a comfortable and versatile design that also works with Android and iOS devices. It can also house large devices, making it possible to connect to foldable phones or smaller tablets.
The discount makes it cheaper, but it’s still pretty pricey
Despite all the things we loved, the price was one of the biggest hurdles to owning the Razer Kishi Ultra. At $150, it’s an accessory that really puts a dent in the wallet. So if you’ve thought about picking one up, it was a good idea to make sure that going to get the best use of it.
With that said, now’s going to be a good time to pick one up since we’re seeing a discount that goes unmatched. The $60 discount fromt Woot drops it to just $90, which is the lowest price we’ve seen. If Woot isn’t really somewhere you want to purchase it from, you can also find it on Amazon for just a touch more, coming in at $95.
We loved the hardware, and Razer also provides software ensure that you’re going to get the best experience from the controller. While games that support controllers will work with this device without much friction, touchscreen-only games do require some configuration in order to get it to work. Razer makes that a breeze though, so you don’t have to worry.
The only real complaint we have about this controller is that it’s a bit larger than we’d like, which doesn’t make it a great accessory to carry around with you. It’s possible, it’s just that this one is going to be a much better fit if you like to play at home. Despite that, it’s still a solid product, and we’d recommend to anyone that’s looking for a controller for their phone or tablet — the hefty discount doesn’t hurt either.

The Razer Kishi Ultra improves on the V2 by offering a full-sized controller that’s basically split in two so you can slide your phone in the middle. The larger size allows for a more comfortable grip, along with full-size controls, ensuring gaming sessions feel and control the same as the console controllers you are used to.
