Google rolled out the third Android 16 QPR2 beta at the beginning of October. This was followed by a quick Beta 3.1 release to fix the bootlooping issue that plagued the earlier build. Now, just over a week later, Google has seeded Android 16 QPR2 Beta 3.2 to public beta testers.
Like Beta 3.1, Android 16 QPR2 Beta 3.2 is another small bug-fix release. Google hasn’t shared separate release notes for this build, suggesting the changes are relatively minor.
Based on Reddit reports, the new beta seems to fix the lock screen bug, which prevented users from selecting different clock styles in previous builds. Some bugs have still slipped past Google’s testing, including one where the speakerphone icon does not work on the Pixel 10 Pro XL. Supposedly, this bug has been present since the phone’s launch, but Google has not addressed it yet.
Even the At a glance widget bug has not been fully fixed. It seems to work for some users, while others report that it’s still broken.
For the Pixel 6 family, the new beta carries the build number BP41.250916.012, while all other devices will get an OTA update to build BP41.250916.012.A1. As this release primarily targets small bug fixes, the OTA download size is relatively modest at 40–50MB.
Sadly, if you own a Pixel 10 and were hoping for a newer GPU driver with this build, that’s not the case. It’s coming, though, as confirmed by Google itself. But it’s unclear when it’ll arrive or if Google will use the newer Android 16-compatible PowerVR driver.
Android Feature Drop incoming in November?
Android 16 QPR2 should drop in early December, so Google still has time to address the lingering bugs. And that also means the company could roll out one or two more minor bug-fixing betas before the final public release.
Google is also working on an Android Feature Drop, which will apparently go live on November 4. If the leak is accurate, the Feature Drop will add support for theme packs, enabling you to change the look and feel of your Pixel at the tap of a button. Pixel VIP will also get a minor update, highlighting the VIP contacts in yellow while also displaying their contact image.
