Amazon’s announcing a bunch of new products today, delivering an all-new redesigned Kindle Scribe, Echo devices, Ring cameras, and of course, Fire TV products. Perhaps the highlight, though, is going to be a more affordable 4K streaming stick that will also have access to Alexa+. The Fire TV Stick 4K Select costs $39.99, which is $10 less than the current cheapest option.
Despite its lower price, it still has all the features you’d want, like access to all your favorite streaming services, Alexa Voice Remote, and support for cloud gaming. However, Amazon does make sacrifices in order to get it down in price, cutting the RAM down to just 1GB and relying on Wi-Fi for its wireless connection.
Out with the old, in with the new Alexa+
The Fire TV Stick 4K that costs $49.99 features pretty much the same features, but has better hardware that utilizes 2GB of RAM and Wi-Fi 6. It’s hard to say what the experience will be like, but Amazon does have a similar hardware configuration with its Fire TV Stick HD that streams at 1080p. So we think it should be okay for most people.
Of course, the tricky part here is that the Fire TV Stick often goes on sale. Even now, ahead of Prime Day, you can buy the Fire TV Stick 4K for just $25. So, it makes you wonder, is there really a need for a cheaper model? With that said, you can’t really argue with more options, especially if you’re outside the US where the sales don’t come all that often.
In addition to the streaming stick, Amazon is also introducing a new Fire TV Omni QLED series, with brighter displays and faster hardware to provide an even smoother experience than before. Amazon is also revamping the Fire TV 2-series and 4-series to provide better and more affordable TV options.
For the most part, all of these products are now available for purchase from Amazon in the US. The new Fire TV Omni QLED series will start at $479.99, while the new Fire TV 2-series starts at $159.99, and the 4-series starts at $329.99. Perhaps the biggest addition to all of these devices is that they will be able to access Alexa+.
For some, this might not be a reason to upgrade, but it’s something to consider if you’re looking over these new products. Of course, we also encourage you to check out the new Echo devices, along with the new Ring cameras too. And if you’re into Kindle, the new Scribe will leave you stunned by just how much better it’s gotten from the previous model.

The latest 4K streaming stick from Amazon, coming in at just $39.99. This is the cheapest 4K streaming stick that you can buy, but it still delivers a great experience with access to all your favorite shows and even game streaming.
