Ultra-thin smartphones are now everywhere. Samsung kicked off the trend with the launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge earlier this year, and recently, even Apple joined in, revealing its all-new iPhone Air. It now appears Motorola doesn’t want to miss out, as a leak suggests the company has its own ‘slim’ smartphone in the works.
Reliable leaker Evan Blass shared an image of the upcoming Moto Edge 70 on X/Twitter, and while the name scheme and design may not look unusual, it seems Motorola will emphasize thinness with this device when it officially launches.
The marketing render shows the Moto Edge 70 from the side, clearly highlighting its thin profile. And if that isn’t enough, the teaser also carries the tagline “Impossibly thin and incredibly tough.” The predecessor, the Moto Edge 60, was 7.9mm thick (8.2mm depending on the color), so it seems the Edge 70 will slim down further.
Apart from the thin build, the design of the phone looks fairly plastic, similar to what we’ve already seen before. There appears to be a tri-camera setup on the top left of the back, while the back itself seems to have a textured finish. The teaser also shows the phone will sport the Moto AI key on the left-hand side.
Motorola’s turn to go ultra-thin
And, to be honest, I like what I’m seeing here. Motorola isn’t going extreme in slimming down the device, unlike the iPhone Air and Galaxy S25 Edge, both of which come with compromises. Yes, we don’t know much about the device yet, but it appears Motorola won’t change much with the Edge 70 from the Edge 60.
There’s no official word on when we will see the Moto Edge 70 launch (or other specs of the device), but the marketing render Blass shared looks nearly finished, so it seems our wait won’t be long. We’ll keep you posted when we hear anything official about the launch.

Samsung’s latest smartphone combines the best elements of the mainline Galaxy S25 trio with an all new slim chassis. But will the smaller battery and reduced sensor count be enough to win over enthusiasts?
