If you’re a Disney+, Hulu, or Disney Bundle subscriber, your wallet is about to feel a little lighter. Again. Disney is raising prices across its streaming services in the US, effective October 21, 2025, pushing costs higher for Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select (formerly ESPN+), and various bundles.
As per Disney’s updated support page, the ad-supported Disney+ plan will jump from $9.99 to $11.99 per month, while its ad-free “Premium” tier climbs from $15.99 to $18.99 per month, or $189.99 per year — up $30 (via The Verge).
Disney’s bundle deals are also getting more expensive. The package combining Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select when supported by ads will go from $16.99 to $19.99 per month, and the ad-free version (or ad-reduced where applicable) will increase from $26.99 to $29.99 per month.
ESPN Select’s standalone tier is rising too, from $11.99 to $12.99 per month, with its annual subscription moving from $119.99 to $129.99.
Four years, four hikes
Disney’s push for streaming profitability
This marks the fourth consecutive year Disney has raised streaming prices since Disney+ launched in 2019. The changes are part of Disney’s ongoing strategy to improve the profitability of its digital platform. The streaming arm, which had only recently achieved profitability, is under pressure to keep growing revenue even while balancing rising content/operational costs.
The timing comes amidst public backlash over Disney’s involvement in the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” controversy. ABC briefly pulled the show after comments about Charlie Kirk, leading to outrage and calls for boycotts of Disney’s streaming service. Though Disney says the price hikes were planned well ahead of that situation, critics note the proximity between the controversy and the announcement makes it look like one may have influenced or at least intensified reactions.
For customers, that means on or after October 21, new billing will reflect the higher prices. If you’re currently on a bundle or legacy plan, your increase depends on your plan’s specific structure (with ads / without ads). As a side note, Disney is planning to fully integrate Hulu’s content into Disney+ through a unified app by sometime in 2026, which could reshape how bundles are structured going forward.
