If you’ve been seeing your Pixel 10’s display go all snowy for a few minutes at a time, good news: Google’s rolling out a small but important update that should finally put that worrying glitch to rest.
A quick over-the-air Pixel 10 update
Unheralded, but highly worth it
The new OTA update, build BD3A.250721.001.E1, is hitting Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL devices starting today. At just around 31MB, it’s a quick download, and like most post-launch hotfixes, the official changelog is as vague as it gets: “This update fixes critical bugs and improves the performance and stability of your device.”
Thankfully, Verizon is a little more forthcoming, noting that this update specifically addresses “an issue that caused users to experience a fuzzy display.” That’s the same colorful snow/static effect some owners started reporting shortly after launch — one that we also noticed on a review unit. The phones remained responsive, but the screen would briefly look like an old-school TV with bad reception, which isn’t exactly what you want from a brand-new $1,000 smartphone.
This marks the second software patch for the Pixel 10 series this month. Out of the box, the phones shipped with Android 16 QPR1 and an August patch, then received a day-one update and an early September patch that improved stability, display transitions, and even fixed a bug with the power button when connected to Android Auto.
While Google hasn’t published factory images for this update yet, the OTA is live immediately through Settings > System > Software update. No other Pixel devices are seeing updates today, making this a very targeted rollout — a good sign if you were among those affected by the display issue.
Google told Android Authority earlier this month that it had started pushing fixes on Sept. 3 “with more to follow in the coming weeks,” and this appears to be the follow-up patch they were referring to. If you’ve noticed any jarring display errors on your new Pixel phone, this update’s worth grabbing right away.
