The OnePlus 15 is expected to be revealed soon, and as is tradition for most phone launches, almost everything has been leaked prior to the phone’s release. Previous leaks had mentioned the existence of a new colorway for OnePlus’s new flagship, and now, more leaks have confirmed at least three colors the OnePlus 15 is set to be available in.
The OnePlus 15 will be available in three colors, according to leaker Digital Chat Station (via Android Authority). Of these three colors, there’s no sign of a white variant, the first time we’ve lacked a white OnePlus flagship since the release of the OnePlus 11.
Three colorways include one lighter model, both in weight and shade
OnePlus deals in absolutes
OnePlus is well known for delivering strong specs on a lower price tag, and this year will likely be no different. But it’s also known for its strong, iconic looks, and its choice of colorways has also played into this. Previous leaks had said OnePlus would be debuting a “SuperBlack” color with the OnePlus 15, a shade of black so deep and dark that it reflected very little light. Now, that same leaker has returned with what they claim are the official names of the OnePlus 15’s colors, including that “SuperBlack” model.
According to a translation of Digital Chat Station’s post, we can expect the OnePlus 15 to be available in “Absolute Black”, “Mist Purple”, and “Original Sand Dune”. The first two, the black and purple models, will weigh 215 grams, while the Original Sand Dune variant will arrive a little lighter (in both color and weight), weighing 211 grams. This difference in weight comes down to the titanium frame used in the latter model, and it’s possible that color may be more of a limited edition as a result.
It’s uncommon for OnePlus to forgo a white model in its flagship range. The OnePlus 13 and 12 both had white variants, and while the OnePlus 11 did not, it was an oddity, with most other OnePlus models containing a plain white or extremely light silver colorway. The OnePlus 15 is already bucking a trend, with OnePlus ignoring the number “14” due to its unlucky connotations in Chinese culture, and with the lack of a white color, it’s bucking yet another.
Of course, all of this is just a rumor and nothing is true until it’s confirmed. We don’t have long to wait until these leaks and rumors are either confirmed or denied, too, as the OnePlus 15 is expected to be revealed next month.
