We have learned which eight games will be added to the PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra game catalog this month, courtesy of a new PlayStation Blog post from Sony. Overall, September seems like it will be a quieter month for the service, as it’s adding an eclectic bunch of niche games.
Peronsa 5 Tactica is the most notable title in this batch of new additions, as it’s a solid strategy game spin-off of a beloved RPG. Meanwhile, retro game fans have Legacy of Kain: Defiance to look forward to, plus the throwback indie horror game Crow Country.
What games are coming to PS Plus Premium and Extra in September 2025?
Persona 5: Tactica and more are being added
You can check out the full list of PS4 and PS5 games coming to PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra’s game catalog on September 16 below:
- Conscript (PS5)
- Crow Country (PS4, PS5)
- Fate/Samurai Remnant (PS4, PS5)
- Green Hell (PS4, PS5)
- Legacy of Kain: Defiance (PS4, PS5)
- Persona 5 Tactica (PS4, PS5)
- The Invincible (PS5)
- WWE 2K25 (PS4, PS5)
PS Plus Extra subscribers won’t have access to Legacy of Kain: Defiance, as that PS2 game is part of PS Plus Premium’s Classics catalog. This game catalog is also separate from the monthly games initiative that offers redeemable titles to PS Plus subscribers across all tiers. This month, those monthly games are Psychonauts 2, Stardew Valley, and Viewfinder.
Although I think September’s monthly games lineup is stronger than its PS Plus Premium and Extra lineup, there are still some gems within these new additions. If you’ve played the other Legacy of Kain games on PS Plus, you should definitely play Legacy of Kain: Defiance next.
Crow Country is also a neat, retro-inspired horror game with visuals that pay tribute to PS1 games, like Final Fantasy VII. Ultimately, the best game hitting the game catalog in September is Persona 5 Tactica.
As the indefinite wait for Persona 6 continues, it’s at least refreshing to see the number of spin-offs Persona 5 has received. Persona 5 Tactica is perhaps the best of the bunch, as it turns the turn-based RPG into a turn-based strategy game, with flashy results. It’s the one must-play from September’s lineup.
It’s also worth noting that the following seven games will be leaving the PS Plus Premium and Extra game catalog the same day these new titles are added:
- Dragon’s Crown Pro
- FIST: Forged in Shadow Torch
- OdinSphere: Leifthrasir
- Pistol Whip
- Road 96
- The Pucky Squire
- UFC 5
Of those games, I’d recommend playing the meta Zelda-like adventure The Plucky Squire and the entertaining beat ’em up Dragon’s Crown Pro before they leave the service. After that, you might be a bit too busy playing Persona 5: Tactica.
