New Google products are on the way very soon, and ahead of the launch, numerous leaks have already revealed what to expect from the upcoming Made by Google event.
We’ve seen detailed leaks about the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro, while a recent report shed light on the Pixel Watch 4’s pricing and its new charging mechanism. In addition to these devices, Google is also expected to launch its new wireless earbuds, the Pixel Buds 2a, and a new leak has now given us our first look at the upcoming affordable earphones from Google.
The team at Android Headlines has shared what appears to be an official render of the Pixel Buds 2a in a new color called Iris. The image reveals the updated design compared to the first-generation Pixel Buds A, which have now been around for nearly four years since their original release in 2021.
This is our first real look at the Pixel Buds 2a
First off, Google is sticking to the same design language for the Pixel Buds 2a as seen in its other earbuds. You can expect the familiar oval-shaped white case, while the earbuds themselves retain the same stemless in-ear design as the Pixel Buds A.
What’s interesting is that the inner part of the earbuds matches the color of the inside of the case, and also aligns with the color of the outer part of the earbuds where the “G” logo sits. This is different from the Pixel Buds Pro, where only the outer shell is colored and the inner portion remains black.
The leaked image also shows a new microphone cutout on the earbuds, which may suggest improved active noise cancellation coming our way. These cutouts were not present on the original Pixel Buds A, so this could signal a significant audio upgrade.
While not much else is visible from the image, the report adds that the Pixel Buds 2a will come in two additional color options besides Iris: Strawberry and Fog Light.
Luckily, we won’t have to wait long to find out more, as the Made by Google event is set to take place in just a couple of weeks, where all of this will finally become official.
