Samsung is still more than six months away from unveiling the Galaxy S26 lineup. But rumors surrounding the company’s 2026 flagship family have already picked up steam, indicating the biggest rejig in years. As part of the revamp, Samsung will ditch the base and Plus models in favor of the Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Edge. A new report now sheds light on the alleged battery capacity of the phones.

GalaxyClub claims the Galaxy S26 Pro will feature a rated battery capacity of 4,175mAh. Samsung will likely advertise this as a 4,300mAh cell — the same as the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Based on the battery capacity and the naming scheme, it’s now clear that the S26 Pro will be like the iPhone 16 Pro and Google Pixel 9 Pro, a compact flagship. So, expect the phone to feature a display measuring around 6.4 inches or smaller.

For comparison, the iPhone 16 Pro features a 6.3-inch display and a 3,582mAh battery, while the Pixel 9 Pro, with the same display size, packs a significantly larger 4,700mAh cell. Even the base Galaxy S25, which houses a 6.3-inch display, packs a 4,000mAh cell. So, the S26 Pro should be around the same size as the S25 or just slightly bigger, enabling Samsung to fit in a 300mAh bigger cell.

Galaxy S26 Edge may get a welcome battery capacity boost

As for the S26 Edge, the report claims Samsung will equip it with a 4,078mAh battery but market it as a 4,200mAh cell. If accurate, that would bring a 300mAh boost in capacity over the S25 Edge‘s 3,900mAh cell. This should lead to a noticeable boost in battery life, though the phone will likely still struggle to make it through a day of use if Samsung does not optimize other aspects for power efficiency.

The alleged battery capacity of the Galaxy S26 Ultra has also already leaked, indicating it will use the same 5,000mAh cell as Samsung’s last few Ultra flagships. On the bright side, the phone will supposedly support 60W wired fast charging, making it one of the fastest-charging Galaxy devices around when it debuts next year.
