Samsung kicked off the year with the launch of the Galaxy S25 lineup in late January. Then, it announced the ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Edge to the family in May. The company is yet to launch the cheapest member of the S25 lineup, though — the Galaxy S25 FE. Typically, Samsung unveils its new FE devices in late September-early October or later in the year. But this time, it has confirmed that the Galaxy S25 FE will launch earlier than usual.

During Samsung’s Q2 2025 earnings call (via Android Authority), Daniel Araujo, VP of Samsung’s Mobile Experience division, revealed an “earlier launch of the S25 FE.” While the executive did not provide a more detailed timeframe, an early debut could see the S25 FE releasing in late August or early September.

The company could be adjusting its release timeline to boost sales of its Fan Edition phone. An early launch would allow Samsung to capture more attention with its marketing efforts and drive sales during the crucial holiday quarter.

Another possible reason is that Samsung still has several high-profile product launches lined up for the year. In addition to the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, the company plans to unveil its first tri-folding device in 2025, along with the Project Moohan Android XR headset. So, releasing the Galaxy S25 FE early will give the company’s marketing team enough room to ensure all products get their due spotlight.

A Samsung executive has already revealed their goal of launching their first tri-fold device at the “end of this year,” though it could be a limited release in selected markets.

Galaxy S25 FE may fail to impress

Unlike the rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup, the S25 FE might fail to impress. All leaks point to the device sticking to almost the same internals as the S24 FE, including an Exynos 2400e chipset, 8GB RAM, and 128GB of base storage. The only major rumored improvements include a brighter OLED screen with thinner bezels, a slimmer chassis, and faster 45W wired charging.

Still, with the right offers and trade-in deals, the Galaxy S25 FE could end up being a big win for Samsung, especially given the economy.
