Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are finally out in the open. The latest foldables bring notable upgrades over the previous generation, including a slimmer build, a tougher hinge, and improved internal hardware. If you’re planning to buy one (or already have), you definitely don’t want to break that display.

And that’s because the cost of replacing foldable screens is higher than ever.

As reported by Sammobile, screen replacement costs for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 in the EU are steep. According to the publication, which spoke with a supplier providing genuine Samsung parts, the inner foldable panel for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 costs €761 ($890), while the cover screen is €525 ($611).

For the Galaxy Z Flip 7, the inner foldable screen costs €342 ($400), and the new 4.1-inch cover screen is €207 ($240). That’s a significant jump from the Galaxy Z Fold 5’s screen replacement cost, which was around $500. While these prices are for the EU and may differ in the US, they still represent a hefty bill for screen repairs.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is more durable, but pricier than ever to fix

Of course, screen damage isn’t covered under Samsung’s standard warranty, as it’s considered accidental. To be protected, you’ll need to subscribe to Samsung Care+, which costs $13/month or $259/year for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, or $10/month or $169/year for the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Even then, unlike Galaxy S25 screen repairs that may be fully covered, foldable repairs still come with a $29 deductible for cracked screens.

While Samsung has strengthened its new foldables with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and a tougher Advanced Armor Aluminum frame, these are still premium devices, and durability concerns with foldables remain. It’s always a good idea to slap a case on to protect your device.

You should also consider subscribing to Samsung Care+, so if you accidentally break your foldable, you won’t be stuck with a hefty repair bill.
