The Made by Google hardware event is just a little over a month away at this point. I’m personally excited to see how Google innovates with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, especially considering the new Galaxy Z Fold 7‘s slim design, which is raising the bar for foldables.
However, apart from the usual smartphone suspects, the tech giant’s Watch series is also set to get a new addition, and despite the wider industry trend, it might not come with a price hike.
The Pixel Watch 4, from what we already know, will come in two sizes. The OG Pixel Watch, for reference, only offered a single 41mm model. The same was true with the Pixel Watch 2. Last year’s Pixel Watch 3 finally delivered distinct 41mm and 45mm options after repeated user demand, and the same is expected to remain true with the upcoming Pixel Watch 4.
We already know a lot about the upcoming wearable, but its pricing has remained elusive since leaks and rumors about the watch started propagating earlier this year. That changed earlier today, when French publication Dealabs got its hands on the Pixel Watch 4’s EU pricing. The report does not mention a concrete source for the information. “Following our recent investigations, we were able to establish the pricing grid for the Google Pixel Watch 4,” reads the report.
Considering that the upcoming line’s grand reveal is roughly a month away, it’s highly plausible that this pricing leak is the real deal. However, we still suggest you take this with a grain of salt. With that said, here’s what the Pixel Watch 4 will cost:
Size |
Wi-Fi |
LTE + Wi-Fi |
41 mm |
€399 |
€499 |
45mm |
€449 |
€549 |
The incremental upgrades are digestible (but not welcome) with no price hike
For those unaware, the aforementioned pricing is the same as the Pixel Watch 3’s launch pricing in euros, and that is a logical move on Google’s part, especially considering that early leaks paint a picture of largely incremental upgrades.
From what we already know, the Pixel Watch 4’s design isn’t in for a major revamp. You’re looking at the same circular design, possibly with slimmer bezels. The internals are poised to stay consistent too, with Google, again, opting for the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 as the watch’s main processor.
Battery life could reportedly get a much-needed boost, going from 307mAh and 420mAh on the 41mm and 45mm Watch 3 to 327mAh and 459mAh, respectively. Elsewhere, upgrades are expected to stem from the software-side, with features like continuous SpO2 monitoring, low oxygen detection, and support for emergency satellite connectivity.
Keep an eye out, we’ll likely learn more about the Pixel Watch 4 as we approach its eventual unveiling on August 20th.
