The Pixel Watch 3 is a stylish watch that ticks some important boxes its predecessor didn’t: it’s got a super bright 60Hz display flanked by thinner bezels, and unlike the Pixel Watch or Pixel Watch 2, it comes in two sizes. It’s my favorite smartwatch on the market right now, and for Prime Day, it starts at $238, more than $100 off its MSRP.
I’ve always liked Google’s Pixel Watch wearables. The first-gen model hit the market in 2022 with a good grasp on the basics and a unique, pebble-like look. The sequels have been iterative improvements.
The most recent Pixel Watch 3 fixes a couple of common frustrations with the (already good) first two generations — and for Prime Day this year, it starts at $238 — a killer price for a great smartwatch.
Right now on Amazon, most colorways of the 41mm Pixel Watch 3 are going for $238, $112 under sticker price. The bigger 45mm model comes with a similar discount of $115 off MSRP, with the matte black and champagne gold versions selling for $285 today.
What I like about the Pixel Watch 3
I won’t beat around the bush: my favorite thing about the Pixel Watch 3 is how it looks. Watches are accessories, after all, and the Pixel Watch series’s svelte, rounded look is unlike any other wearable on the market today.
Sure, its exposed glass edges are less durable than a more traditional design, and you don’t have to look hard to find stories of users cracking their screens. But I’ve been wearing one Pixel Watch or another for years, and I haven’t busted one yet.
Black glass spilling over the edges of the Pixel Watch 3’s face helps blend the watch’s display into its body. That illusion is helped by the fact that the Pixel Watch 3’s display bezels are significantly slimmer than the ones on the first- and second-generation Pixel Watch.
Add in a selection of first-party bands that connect to the watch case without any visible lugs, and you’ve got an especially sleek smartwatch.
That great design is backed up with strong smartwatch fundamentals. The display has a peak brightness of 2,000 nits (up from 1,000 in the Pixel Watch 2) and a 60Hz refresh rate.
Navigating the Pixel Watch 3’s UI is quick and fluid, and battery life is strong enough to wear the watch for a full 24 hours or longer. You can even flip on Battery Saver to squeeze an additional 10 or 12 hours out of the watch at the expense of the AOD and some other bells and whistles.
With a unique look paired with strong performance and long battery life, the Pixel Watch 3 is my favorite wearable right now.
During Prime Day, Amazon Prime subscribers can snap up the 41mm model for less than $250 or the bigger 45mm version for less than $300.
These are the best prices I’ve ever seen on the Pixel Watch 3. If you’ve been waiting for an excuse to grab one of Google’s stylish wearables, there’s never been a better time.
