The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are Google’s flagship earbuds with Active Noise Cancellation, a comfortable fit, and up to 48 hours of listening time on a single charge. They use Google’s Tensor A1 chip for clear audio and support Bluetooth 5.4. Right now, they’re available at their lowest price of $169, compared to the regular retail price of $229.

Unlike the Android smartphone market, where options can be limited in the US, the wireless earbuds space is packed with choices, especially in the budget to midrange segments. Brands like OnePlus, Nothing, and Anker all offer solid picks, but when it comes to flagship-tier wireless earbuds, the selection is surprisingly thin.

You have a few premium options from companies like Samsung and Sony, but that’s about it. Even Apple’s AirPods are a no-go for most Android users due to limited compatibility. That’s why one of my favorite flagship earbuds — and my daily go-to for almost a year now — has been the Pixel Buds Pro 2. And this Prime Day, they’ve hit their lowest price yet.

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are currently on sale for $169, down from their regular $229 retail price — a solid $60 savings at nearly 26% off. While that might not sound like a massive drop, this is the lowest price Google’s flagship earbuds have ever hit. If you’ve been on the fence about getting a new pair, these are the ones to get right now.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 nails the basics right out of the box

Great fit, solid sound, and battery life that just lasts

The important things about a pair of earbuds are that they should deliver great sound, fit well in your ears, offer strong battery life, and provide solid features, especially at a premium price point. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 does all of that.

I’ve tested several earbuds over the past year, including the Nothing Ear (a) and OnePlus Buds Pro 3, but none have fit quite as comfortably as the Pixel Buds Pro 2. And that is largely due to their size. These are some of the smallest earbuds I’ve used in recent months, and thanks to the small form factor and lightweight design, they’ve caused the least fatigue in my ears, even after extended use.

But the best part of their design is the wing-tip. Google’s “twist to lock” fit ensures a snug and secure hold, whether you’re working out, walking, or running. They stay firmly in place, and I’m not alone in that experience—many Reddit users echo the same.

Then there’s the sound quality. I’m no audiophile, but the sound quality I get with the Pixel Buds Pro 2 — especially with my Pixel 9 — is something I haven’t experienced with other earbuds or ecosystems. Maybe it’s the better fit or less sound leakage, but the Pixel Buds Pro 2 deliver the right amount of punch I like. The ANC suppression is also among the best I’ve used in earbuds.

Battery life is another area where the Pixel Buds Pro 2 shine. Google promises up to 12 hours of listening time on a single charge with ANC off — something our reviewer, Sara Gitkos, confirmed in real-world use. That’s better than many premium options, including Sony’s WF-1000XM5, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra, and even Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.

At $170, Pixel Buds Pro 2 are too good to pass up

You’re getting flagship-grade performance without the flagship price

Even the best flagship earbuds often fall short in certain areas. Take the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, for example. They deliver impressive sound and a comfortable fit, but their battery life falls short. The Nothing Ear (a) punches above its weight in terms of value, but its active noise cancellation (ANC) isn’t quite up to par. That’s where the Pixel Buds Pro 2 stand out — they check nearly every box that most earbuds don’t, and then some.

From solid ANC and a compact, comfortable design to long battery life and cross-Android ecosystem compatibility, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 feel like the most well-rounded flagship earbuds out there. Add to that AI-powered features and seamless integration with Google’s ecosystem, and you’ve got a premium audio experience that’s hard to beat.

At $170 during Prime Day, they’re easily one of the best wireless earbud deals this year. It’s not the steepest discount out there, but considering how well these buds perform even at their $229 retail price, saving $60 makes the value even more compelling.
