Govee has quickly become a staple in the smart home market. It burst onto the scene in 2017, and has quickly gone head-to-head with established names like Philips and Nanoleaf.
The Shenzhen, China-based company manufactures and sells smart appliances like ice makers, fans, thermometers, water sensors, air purifiers, and more, though the product category it specializes in (and is most known for) is its smart lights!
I’ve been using Govee’s smart lights since 2021. After having tried out the company’s Flow Pro Light Bar, Glide Wall Light, Glide Hexa Light Panels, DreamView G1 Pro, and even its recent Curtain Light (in that order), I have a clear favorite: Govee’s Hexa Light Panels.
No shade on Nanoleaf. It makes top-of-the-line smart lights that truly shine, but its pricing is something I’ve never really been able to digest. In my experience, Govee’s Hexa Light Panels function identically to Nanoleaf’s Shapes, for example, barring the latter’s touch functionality. And that too at almost half the price.
Regularly available for $190, the Glide Hexa Light Panels (10 pack) is currently 47 percent off for Prime Day, bringing its cost all the way down to $100.
A Prime Day steal you shouldn’t miss
The lights are RBGIC, which means that instead of just one color, each panel can show multiple shades of a color per panel at once. The hexagon design, on the other hand, means that you have countless shapes you can arrange the lights in.
I’ve personally used them over my PC setup in the past, but they’ve since been relocated to my living room, right above the TV, and they’re a staple now on movie nights. I keep them on during regular nights too, albeit at the lowest brightness just for extra ambient light.
The Glide Hexa panels work with Google Home and Alexa, though I primarily use voice assistants to turn up the brightness, or change to stagnant colors. For full customization, I use the Govee app, which offers several different scenes, color combinations, an AI assistant to bring your creative ideas to life, and more.
The lights have a dedicated music mode, which intelligently changes lighting based on music in your surroundings. The Glide Hexa accurately picks up beats and vocals and displays lights accordingly, essentially creating an immersive atmosphere on party nights.
The Govee Glide Hexa Light Panels were already a great purchase at full price, but at an all-time-low price of $100, picking them up for Prime Day is a no-brainer, especially if you’ve been eyeing wall panels to add a little personality to your living or gaming room.
