Leaks have already revealed almost everything about the foldable, though, including its bigger displays and revamped rear camera setup. The leaked images, shared by @Jukanlosreve, offer a clear look at the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s larger cover display, expansive inner screen, and ultra-slim design. Samsung has already confirmed that the upcoming foldable will be its slimmest yet, with leaks suggesting it will be significantly thinner than the Z Fold 6 and even lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
While impressive for a Samsung phone, the Z Fold 7 won’t be the slimmest and lightest foldable in the world when it launches next week. The Vivo X Fold 5 and the Honor Magic V5 already beat the Fold in these aspects. But considering these foldables won’t launch in the US, the Z Fold 7 should easily take the crown for the thinnest foldable to launch in the US.
The photos seem to have been taken just moments after unboxing the device, suggesting this could be an early retail unit. The Blue Shadow color looked luxurious in leaked renders, and it looks equally premium in the hands-on pictures as well. If you plan to get the Galaxy Z Fold 7, this might just be the color to get this year.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 will retain the same IP rating as Fold 6
Another Galaxy Z Fold 7 leak from @MysteryLupin corroborates earlier reports that the foldable will retain the same IP48 rating as its predecessor. This means the foldable will offer limited protection against dust ingress and can survive submersion in fresh water up to 1.5 meters deep for 30 minutes.
Based on the shared EU Energy label, the Fold 7 will have a rated battery life of 40 hours and 28 minutes. While that might seem impressive, the actual runtime will most likely be considerably lower, especially if Samsung sticks to the same 4400mAh cell.
Alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung will unveil several new devices at its July 9th Unpacked event, including the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Flip SE, and Galaxy Watch 8 lineup.
