Did you or will you jailbreak iOS 9.3.3?

Pangu came through with an official jailbreak for iOS 9.2-9.3.3 over the weekend, and despite the fact that it’s a semi-untethered jailbreak, it’s still a sight for sore eyes.

We want to know whether or not you’re going to be jailbreaking your iOS 9.3.3 device, or if you have already, so we’re hosting this poll so you can put in your two cents!

Whether or not to jailbreak iOS 9.3.3

It can be a difficult choice between leaving an untethered jailbreak on iOS 9.0.2 behind and jumping to a semi-untethered jailbreak on iOS 9.3.3. I would personally stay on iOS 9.0.2 if I were in this situation, since the untethered jailbreak is many times more stable and most tweaks already work with iOS 9.0.2.

Nevertheless, there are still some people who are stuck on iOS versions post-iOS 9.0.2 who are nostalgic for a jailbreak again, and that’s who I think this jailbreak will appeal most to.

It’s important to keep in mind that this jailbreak only supports 64-bit devices, and this means the iPhone 4s, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c aren’t supported. Only those with the iPhone 5s and later are going to have any chance of using this jailbreak, and that will certainly have an impact on who jailbreaks iOS 9.3.3 and who won’t.

Personally, I have multiple devices; some are 32-bit, and some are 64-bit, and I’ve even ordered more 64-bit devices for future jailbreak tweak testing. So I’ll probably keep my 32-bit devices sitting on iOS 9.0.2 jailbroken untethered, while I run a semi-tethered iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak for a while on the 64-bit devices.

And, last but not least, another thing that may impact your decision is that we know Pangu is working on an iOS 10 jailbreak, so some people may vote to skip jailbreaking iOS 9.3.3 entirely and just hold off for the public iOS 10 jailbreak to drop some time after the public release this Fall.

So what are you going to do? Let us know in the poll widget below:

Wrapping up

For many, this is a wonderful opportunity to start modding devices again. For others, it’s not really the type of jailbreak they were waiting for. Nevertheless, it’s a jailbreak all the same, and we hope you enjoy many more months of calling your iOS device your own with the power of jailbreaking.
