If you get up for class or work every morning, then you’re probably accustomed to setting the alarm on your iPhone to ensure you wake up early enough. iOS’ alarm interface is rather polished right out of the box, but there’s still room for improvement.
A free jailbreak tweak called SleepyTime by iOS developer SparkDev enhances iOS’ alarm interface by displaying the time remaining before one or more of your alarms fire off.
As shown in the screenshot examples above, the time remaining is displayed in real time just underneath each individual alarm in the Alarms tab in the native Clock app. As a bonus, the time remaining also appears in the Bedtime tab for your convenience.
After being installed, SleepyTime adds a preference pane to the Settings app where you can configure a few options:
Here, you can:
- Toggle SleepyTime on or off on demand
- Opt to display the seconds in the time remaining display
- Hide or show time remaining on disabled alarms
SleepyTime is intended for people who use various alarms more often than others and provides a quick and easy to way to discern how long you have before one or more of your alarms go off without doing all the guesswork yourself. Obviously, it won’t do you much good if you don’t set alarms for yourself.
If you’re interested in trying SleepyTime, then you can download it for free from SparkDev’s beta repository in Cydia. The tweak is only intended for jailbroken iOS 11 devices.
