Learning Pathways at PASS Summit 2019

A few weeks ago, I announced that I was accepted to be an official blogger at this year’s PASS Summit.

One of the things I really liked about returning to the Summit this year is that they’re taking new and innovative approaches to delivering a world-class event. For the first time, they will be offering Learning Pathways – a set of related sessions by two or more speakers, presented in a logical order, aimed at collectively achieving a specific learning goal. This gives attendees a chance to build on knowledge from specifically selected sessions in a “track” of sorts, instead of just randomly selecting sessions from the program and hoping they (a) are related and , (b) build upon each other, and (c) happen at different times and in an order that makes that building logical. To me these pathways take that guesswork away for you.

The areas covered by this pilot program are:

As an example, in the Data Management track, there is a Learning Pathway called, “SQL Performance for Developers.” In this Pathway, the following sessions are offered, following a logical flow:

I think this will be a great way to help attendees choose the sessions they attend and derive more value from the conference as a whole.

Haven’t registered for PASS Summit yet? You can do so here.
