Seventh Fugu15 Max public beta jailbreak for arm64e devices on iOS 15.0-15.4.1 seeded to developers

Developer Lars Fröder (@opa334) took to Twitter Friday afternoon to announce the release of a seventh public beta of the Fugu15 Max jailbreak for arm64e devices (iPhone XS and later) running iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1.

Fugu15 Max updated to its seventh beta.Fugu15 Max updated to its seventh beta.

Fugu15 Max beta 7 appears to incorporate the following changes, as noted in the GitHub change log:

Changelog:

– Fix setuid properly, fixes NewTerm and probably other stuff too
– Transition to stable Sileo 2.4, only applied on new bootstraps

For already bootstrapped users, get the new Sileo deb from https://github.com/Sileo/Sileo/releases and install it manually
(a fix for the issue where it crashes on launch for some users is still not there, sorry about that, will be fixed soon)

Fugu15 Max is still only intended for developers at this moment in time, primarily because it hasn’t been polished to Fröder’s liking as of yet.

Currently, Fugu15 Max adds several improvements to Linus Henze’s Fugu15 jailbreak, including fixing the dreaded Wi-Fi bug, getting tweak injection up and running, and more. On the other hand, it still lacks a user-friendly user interface and experience, which is why it isn’t yet recommended for all users. That will be fixed in due time, along with giving it an official name.

Fugu15 Max is a rootless jailbreak. Fortunately, jailbreak tweak developers have been making more of their tweaks rootless compatible while major repositories including BigBoss, Chariz, and Havoc have started accepting rootless-supported package submissions.

If you’re interested in learning more about Fugu15 Max, or trying to despite our warning not to until it’s out of public beta, then it’s available on the project’s GitHub page. Please note however that if something goes wrong while you’re using the public beta, and you’re not a developer, Fröder will not offer support.

If you’re trying to jailbreak an iPhone X or older (non-arm64e device) on iOS or iPadOS 15.0-16.x, then you’ll need to look into palera1n-c instead.
