In this article, we will cover the installation of the Cinnamon Desktop Environment on Debian 10 (Buster) Linux Desktop machine. Debian provides a command-line tool (tasksel) to ease the installation of Desktop Environments. Just run the command like below.
$ sudo taskselYou can then select a Desktop Environment of your choice from the list.
Select Cinnamon from the list of software to install then use <TAB> to select “ok“.
Be patient since packages downloading and installation could take some time. After installation, logout then select “Cinnamon” in the login screen.
You should now have the Cinnamon Desktop Environment installed on Debian 10 (Buster).
