The RootHide Procursus-based bootstrap received an update to version 1.2.5 this week, and it could not have come at a better time considering TrollStore users finally have an installation method for iOS & iPadOS 17.0 by way of TrollRestore.
The RootHide X (formerly Twitter) account announced the new update in a post shared early Wednesday morning, and from what we can gather, version 1.2.5 introduces the following changes:
– Fix an issue that could cause abnormal battery drain/device overheating
– Prevent some jailbroken apps from causing kernel panics on iOS 17.0 A15+ devices
– Fix an issue where some apps may detect being jailbroken
– Keep the screen on during bootstrapping to prevent the device from going to sleep
As this update offers important bug fixes and improvements, we can confidently recommend this update for all users. Existing users can update via the app’s built-in over the air (OTA) mechanism, while prospective users can download the latest .tipa file from the project’s GitHub page and install it with TrollStore.
The RootHide Procursus-based bootstrap isn’t a jailbreak, but it does allow users to inject jailbreak tweaks into their apps to change their behavior or function. Unfortunately, system-wide tweak injection isn’t possible with the RootHide Procursus-based bootstrap, as this can only be achieved with a jailbreak or a semi-jailbreak. That said, RootHide is the best option to expand your horizons on iOS & iPadOS 17.0 with TrollStore.
