Samsung’s One UI 7 update is shaping up to be one of the company’s best updates in years, but the rollout has turned into a frustrating waiting game. Instead, the company is reportedly still testing the update, with a new beta version expected this month. Meanwhile, the company has released the February 2025 security patch for the Galaxy S24 series, but it’s still based on One UI 6.1.1, not One UI 7.

While there’s still no sign of the stable One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 series, a leaker may have just revealed the rollout timeline for the series’ mid-range device — the Galaxy S24 FE.
According to the tipster Tarun Vats, One UI 7 for the Galaxy S24 FE is expected to arrive on March 31, 2025. While that’s still quite a wait, this is the first concrete timeline we’ve heard for the update on the S24 FE.

The leaker also notes that the Galaxy S24 Ultra, S24+, and S24 should receive the One UI 7 update before the S24 FE, meaning we can expect it to land before March 31, 2025. This suggests Samsung is aiming to roll out the stable update for the Galaxy S24 series before Q1 2025 ends.
When One UI 7 finally lands on Galaxy S24 and S24 FE devices, it will bring several UI tweaks, an updated Quick Settings panel, and Now Bar — Samsung’s take on Live Activities. The update will also introduce a revamped camera app interface and, for the first time ever, a vertical app drawer.
However, as it stands, Samsung remains the only major Android OEM that has yet to release Android 15 for its smartphones. Most other manufacturers have already pushed the update to their flagship and even budget devices.
While One UI 7 beta testing has been ongoing for the Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy S24 FE wasn’t part of the program. So, it’s at least reassuring to see that Samsung plans to deliver the update within Q1 2025.
