SafetyDetectives recently spoke with Roderick Rotzien, CEO and founder of Techwarrior Technologies, to explore his journey from military service to spearheading one of the most adaptive IT service providers today. Roderick’s vision transformed a small computer repair business into a dynamic tech company offering customized IT solutions, cutting-edge cybersecurity services, and managed support tailored to clients’ needs. In this exclusive interview, he discusses what inspired him to start Techwarrior Technologies, the challenges his clients face in today’s evolving cybersecurity landscape, and how his company remains at the forefront of emerging trends like AI in IT services.
What inspired you to start Techwarrior Technologies?
In 2007 I bought my best friend’s computer repair company which I had helped him set up a year prior when I got out of the army, its name was bland, and it primarily did retail and break fix mom and pop stuff. At the time I was working as a government contractor as a network administrator. Once I took over, I slowly started to grow it and move it into more business services, forensics, recoveries, and managed tech support. Always keeping the break-fix work to we never want to leave people without quality computer repair. From the original idea of just Techwarrior we turned it into Techwarrior Technologies because we are always bringing in new products services and we are working on some of our own technologies and projects to be released.
How does Techwarrior Technologies differentiate itself from other IT service providers?
We try to tailor and customize especially business services to the client and try to keep individual technicians with the clients instead of just calling into a nameless call center where you could be dealing with a different technician every single time. We like to get to know our customers’ business and really understand how we can help them grow.
What are the biggest cybersecurity challenges your clients face today?
I’d say the biggest one we have been seeing more and more of is keeping the staff informed and educated as far as phishing and social engineering tactics that could be used to infiltrate their systems, we have been getting them very well used to if they aren’t sure about something or even if they are call us or forward us the email so we can check and see if its legit or not.
How do you ensure clients are protected from emerging threats?
We are constantly learning everything we can about every new possibility and trying to produce scenarios of our own so we can help protect against them and putting pieces into place that are available to protect even more.
What are the key IT support services you offer to businesses?
For businesses it is our management, email, and security services along with building and implementing strategies for backups, cloud, and other tools they might want or could help them improve their business.
What emerging trends do you see shaping the future of IT services and cybersecurity?
AI has already shown itself to be very useable on the security and management side and as time goes on it is growing to infiltrate systems and create even more convincing phishing and other attempts at breaching a system. There may be a time where it is a battle of AIs with humans holding the leash.
