This week I’ve been at #SQLDay in Wrocław, Poland. I gave a pre-conference session on Monday, yesterday I gave my Bad Habits & Best Practices talk, and today I talked about optimizing tempdb.
Dziękujemy wszystkim, którzy przybyli do moich sesji! The slide decks and demo files for my regular sessions are below:
- T-SQL : Bad Habits & Best Practices (slides & demos)
- Everything you never thought to ask about optimizing tempdb (slide deck only)
It’s been a great event, and I’ve had a lot of fun! The conference organizers and volunteers have been very welcoming, and this country definitely has a more vibrant SQL Server community than I expected. Grant Fritchey and I were both surprised at how many people this event drew, and how enthusiastic they all seem to be. Quite impressive!
Now I’m off for a couple of sight-seeing days with Grant. We plan to see Kraków (for its old town and amazing castle), Auschwitz and Birkenau (because there aren’t enough sad things to think about already), and Warsaw (at least partially because that’s where we need to catch our flight home on Sunday). I’ll be posting pics from this trip over at our family blog.
