CarPlayHideLabels hides app icon labels from your CarPlay Home Screen

Minimalists who wish to stretch their values to include the user experience in their CarPlay-enabled vehicle might take an interest in a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called CarPlayHideLabels by iOS developer joshuaseltzer.

While there are plenty of jailbreak tweaks that can hide your app icon labels on your iPhone or iPad’s Home Screen, CarPlayHideLabels can give you the same effect on the CarPlay-enabled head unit in your car, allowing for a cleaner look and feel that will benefit minimalists.

While some people like having their app icons labeled, minimalists who know what each app is simply by looking at the app icon will have no use for the additional clutter. Removing app icon labels removes said clutter and provides a clearer view to the wallpaper behind your app icons, which honestly looks better.

As of right now, there are no options to configure for CarPlayHideLabels, and that’s to be expected with a single-purpose jailbreak tweak such as this one. Installing the tweak is all you need to do to take advantage of its features, while uninstalling the tweak would revert your CarPlay user experience to its default aesthetics.

Those who are interested in giving the CarPlayHideLabels tweak a try can download it for free from the Havoc repository via their favorite package manager app. Jailbroken iOS 7-15 devices are supported, including rootless jailbreaks such as Dopamine and palera1n.

CarPlayHideLabels is also fully open source on the developer’s GitHub page, just in case you might want to see how it works behind the scenes.

Are you planning to hide your app icon labels on your CarPlay-enabled head unit? Be sure to let us know in the comments section down below.
