Dopamine jailbreak v1.1.2 released with more bug fixes and improvements for users

For those who use the Dopamine jailbreak tool for A12-A15 chip-equipped handsets running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1, you might want to know about a new version that just dropped.

Project lead developer Lars Fröder took to Twitter Monday evening to announce the release of Dopamine version 1.1.2, which is currently the second update to be released for Dopamine within the past week.

Citing the change log published to Dopamine’s GitHub project page, we can gather that the new version 1.1.2 update introduces the following changes:

  • Disable launchd crash reporter again, as this triggered a lot of jailbreak detections
  • Disable jailbreak button when the device and firmware version combination isn’t supported

As you might have noticed, today’s update removes a feature for crash reporting that was added in version 1.1.1 this past weekend. It seems that the crash reporter had triggered unwanted jailbreak detections by apps for users who had updated, so removing it for now was the only solution until that can be resolved.

Another nice touch in the latest release is that the jailbreak button will appear disabled when someone tries to use Dopamine on an unsupported device and/or version of iOS or iPadOS.

If you’re an existing Dopamine jailbreak user, then you can simply launch the app and follow the prompts in the app to update to the latest version over the air (OTA), like so:

Alternatively, you can acquire the latest version of Dopamine from the developer’s GitHub page as a .tipa file to be perma-signed with TrollStore.

If you haven’t already jailbroken with Dopamine and you’d like to get started for the first time, then you can follow the steps outlined in our in-depth tutorial to get started. Please note that the jailbreak is rootless, so not all jailbreak tweaks will work with Dopamine even though many developers have started adding support.

Have you updated to the latest version of the Dopamine jailbreak yet? Be sure to let us know in the comments section down below.
