Now that the Galaxy S24 series is the official flagship of Samsung, the latest Galaxy S23 deals consist of mostly clearance and trade-in offers. The last-gen models are slowly being sunsetted, and at some retailers, inventory is depleted or completely non-existent. For the most part, we recommend checking out S24 deals first, as that’s the newer phone and the offers tend to be much better. But for those set on picking up an S23, there are still some discounts floating around. Below we’ve rounded up the best S23 deals available right now.

The S23 is by far the most prominent model in the lineup at this point, with far better availability and offers than both the S23+ and S23 Ultra. You can get up to $150 off instantly, or get the phone completely free from select carriers. Verizon will even throw in a highly-discounted Samsung tablet and a free 65″ Fire TV if certain conditions are met, so there are plenty of ways to save on this handset. If you are shopping for an S23+ S23 Ultra, you might be able to find one on clearance at Best Buy, depending on your location, or you can purchase through one of the major carriers for up to $1,000 in savings.

Samsung isn’t currently offering any direct or instant discounts on the S23, but there are still a few ways you can save here. Samsung will give you up to $535 instant credit for trading in your old device, it will take up to 30% off bundled accessories, and of course you can still take advantage of lucrative carrier deals through its website.

Amazon is currently running a $50 discount on the Galaxy S23. That may not sound like a lot, on a $700 device, but it’s instant and pain-free (no carrier shenanigans).

Verizon is taking up to $700 off the Galaxy S23 when you sign up with any 5G Unlimited Plan, meaning you can get the 128GB option for free or the 256GB option for as little as $5 a month. Additionally, the carrier will take up to $550 off the Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G, and it’s still running its free 65″ Fire TV promotion, so there are just a ton of deals at VZW right now. Some conditions apply.

$950 $1000 Save $50

Amazon is taking $50 off the Galaxy S23+ 256GB in the Cream colorway. It’s not a great discount, especially given what we have seen on the S24 models, but it is an option for you. You can also opt to go for a used or third-party offering here, just make sure you stick to highly-rated sellers.

Best Buy

Best Buy still has a handful of S23+ models kicking around on clearance, but supplies are extremely limited and appear to be based on your location. If you are lucky enough to have one available in your area, or for shipping, you can pick it up for as low as $559.

Best Galaxy S23 Ultra deals and trade-in offers

The Galaxy S23 Ultra is not on sale on the Samsung Store at this time, but you can earn up to $750 in instant trade-in credit with qualifying devices. You can also save big on a pair of Galaxy Buds2 Pro earbuds, or a Galaxy Watch 6, if you purchase them with your new phone, and there is a $100 instant Samsung Credit available if you activate through your carrier at purchase.

As of our latest update, there aren’t any S23 Ultra deals on Amazon. We do, however, recommend always giving it a quick look before purchasing elsewhere, as the retailer’s inventory is location-based and pricing can be volatile.

You can $100 instantly on the S23 Ultra at Best Buy via its Activate Today program, but it’s a fairly insignificant discount. We recommend checking out the S24 Ultra deals first, as it will likely have bigger discounts and better inventory. That being said, you can always save big at Best Buy by opting for an Open-Box model.

What you need to know about carrier trade-ins on Samsung.com

You may think, “Oh, $1,000 off my Galaxy S23+ with an AT&T trade-in — that’s a free phone!” You’d be wrong. Technically, what the carriers do when you order a Galaxy S23, or any other phone through Samsung’s website, is pledge to pay you back the $800–$1,000 enhanced trade-in credit via bill credits over the next 36 months. But since your carrier entirely handles the trade-in and bill credits, you pay the initial $800–$1,200 to Samsung and then get a smaller wireless bill for three years.

“Hey, what gives? The phone was actually free last time!” If it was free last time, it was likely because the phone was purchased from your carrier, not directly from Samsung. In that instance, you sign up for a three-year monthly payment plan, and the trade-in credit cancels those monthly charges. Why the difference? For one, it means carriers have to pay less capital at launch for the device. After all, millions of people are buying these phones during their initial release.

Rather than having to pay the remaining balance if you swap carriers between now and 2026, you’ve already paid the money. So, if you switch carriers, you’ll just miss out on the last months of bill credits. This allows you to walk away from the carrier anytime — just without the full amount from your rebate. It also means you own the phone and can do what you like with it. However, if you trade it in for another phone before the three years are up, you might miss out on the last of those bill credits, particularly if you’re starting another bill credit cycle with the new phone.

Yes, it’s convoluted and annoying, but that’s why you have us.

Is the Samsung Galaxy S23 worth buying?

There’s a lot to consider when purchasing a phone, but one thing is for sure, Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Series includes some of the best phones money can buy right now. They may be pricey, but you get what you pay for with Samsung. Powerful hardware and specs make for a smooth and responsive experience, and the camera situation is second to none when it comes to smartphones. Plus, if you’re already part of the Galaxy ecosystem, whether it be with wearables or tablets, they seamlessly connect to deliver one cohesive experience.

That said, the Galaxy phones are premium devices with a price tag to match. If you want the absolute best there is, and you’ve got the money to spare, than the Samsung Galaxy S23 is absolutely worth it.
