The TaiG 8.0-8.1.1 Untether has been updated to version 1.1, and it comes bundled in the TaiG jailbreak that’s downloadable for Windows, and it also comes as a Cydia package for those who have already jailbroken with TaiG.
The update doesn’t appear to be a major update, but there are fixes included to fix sandboxing issues present in the previous version of the TaiG jailbreak tool. Users who are jailbroken, and those who have yet to jailbreak should use TaiG 1.1.
There are two ways that you can snag the 1.1. update of TaiG:
1: You can go the traditional route, and jailbreak your device using the TaiG tool for Windows. You can download the latest version of TaiG 1.1 on our downloads page. You can then follow our TaiG jailbreak tutorial to learn how to jailbreak using TaiG from start to finish.
2: If you’re already jailbroken, simply add the TaiG repo and update the untether. Note: those of you who are jailbroken using Pangu should not use this untether. This is only for those jailbroken with TaiG. To update the untether from Cydia, do the following:
Step 1: Open Cydia
Step 2: Tap the Sources tab
Step 3: Tap the Edit button in the upper right-hand corner
Step 4: Tap the Add button in the upper left-hand corner
Step 5: Type the following URL in the pop-up box: http://apt.taig.com and tap Add Source
Step 6: Once the source has full loaded tap the Return to Cydia button
Step 7: Tap the TaiG source at the bottom of the page, and tap All Packages
Step 8: Tap the TaiG 8.0-8.1.1 Untether package, and tap the Install button in the upper right-hand corner and tap Confirm
Step 9: Once the install is completed tap the Reboot button at the bottom of the screen to reboot your device
