Akara Control Center redesign picks up rootless iOS 15 & 16 jailbreak support

Around two years ago, we showed you a jailbreak tweak called Akara by iOS developers Tr1fecta and Kennyroo that reimagined the Control Center user experience while maintaining a semi-stick aesthetic as not to detract from Apple’s design techniques.

Akara was popular at the time, and now that we’re all about those rootless jailbreaks, the tweak was updated on Tuesday to version 2.0.0 with official support for jailbreaks on iOS & iPadOS 15 and 16, such as Dopamine for arm64e devices and palera1n for arm64 devices.

So what makes Akara stand out? Two things: the looks and the functionality. You can learn all about what you can do with Akara in our full review post, but we did want to touch on some of the basics below:

  • Scrollable connectivity module
  • Multiple card sizes
  • Multiple blur styles
  • Custom image backgrounds
  • Static Wi-Fi & Bluetooth icons
  • Static slider icons
  • Customizable slider dimensions
  • Customizable media player dimensions
  • Module transparency options
  • Easy Lock Screen invocation
  • Status Bar options
  • And more…

Invoking Akara is as simple as swiping up from the bottom-right corner of the screen, while dismissing it is as easy as tapping anywhere outside the interface.

Users can customize their Akara layout however they want, which makes it that much more awesome in terms of making a user interface that suits you instead of dealing with a cookie-cutter interface that everyone else users and doesn’t necessarily like.

If you’re interested in grabbing Akara, then you can currently purchase the tweak for $2.49 from the Chariz repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak now supports jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 15 & 16 devices, but those on iOS or iPadOS 14 are advised to use version 1.1.0 instead.

Note: the developer warns that this tweak works on iPads, but looks best on iPhones. A future update may improve iPad aesthetics.

Are you going to be taking advantage of Akara now that it supports iOS & iPadOS 15 and 16 jailbreaks? Let us know why or why not in the comments section down below.
