In today’s roundup piece, we’ll go over everything new spanning the week of Monday, October 23rd through Sunday, October 29th. Having said that, if you find yourself too busy to keep up this past week, then you’ll find this roundup helpful.
Important stuff from this week
palera1n gets iPadOS 17 support
The palera1n jailbreak for checkm8 exploit-vulnerable devices received an update to version 2.0.0 beta 8 on Thursday, adding official support for iPadOS 17 on a small subset of older iPads.
While this has been possible for some time using palera1n Nightly, this is the first time that the mainline release has added this support.
You can learn all about the latest update, including which iPads running iPadOS 17 are supported, in our full news post.

The Dopamine jailbreak for arm64e devices running iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1 was updated to version 1.1.10 on Tuesday with more bug fixes and improvements.
The update, which is recommended for all users — new and existing — is available for free from the project’s GitHub page. You can also learn more about how to jailbreak with Dopamine in our full tutorial linked at the bottom of this post.

iOS & iPadOS 17.1 released
Apple released iOS & iPadOS 17.1 on Wednesday in a move that brought a bevy of new features, but also security vulnerability patches to Apple’s mobile software.
This software is not recommended for those waiting to jailbreak, as the additional security patches will make it even tougher to make jailbreaks for.

Independent developer drops unofficial Taurine build with better M1 iPad Pro success via kfd
An unofficial build of the Taurine jailbreak has been unleashed with improved kfd exploit reliability for M1 chip-equipped iPad Pro models, which has been a sticking point since Taurine first picked up kfd exploit support this year.
The unofficial build is to be used at your own risk, but is purportedly a lot more reliable, albeit takes longer to exploit.
You can learn more about the specifics in our full news post.
RootHide users get updated Sileo
The Sileo package manager app that comes bundled with the RootHide jailbreak detection bypass for the Dopamine jailbreak has been updated with more bug fixes and improvements.
Importantly, the developers have asked users to turn on analytics so that jailbreak tweak developers will have what they need to update their tweaks to support not only the rootless dynamic, but also the RootHide dynamic.
You can learn more about this information in our full news post.

SF Symbols on jailbroken devices
A useful app called Symbols by iOS developer MTAC makes it possible to access Apple’s unique SF Symbols on-device with a special app made especially for jailbroken iPhones and iPads.
An app just like this already exists from Apple for the Mac, so a version for the iPhone and iPad simply made sense to exist — at least to everyone but Apple.
You can learn more about Symbols, including where you can get it from and how it works in our full review post.
Cowabunga Lite v2.0.0 for macOS
The Cowabunga Lite system customization platform for macOS was updated to version 2.0.0 this week with new features and a warning about how iOS 17.2 appears to be trying to trick users into removing their hacks.
This neat platform allows users to customize their device in ways that would ordinarily require a jailbreak, albeit without one. It uses Apple’s backup/restoring feature instead of any exploits, so it works on any version of iOS or iPadOS.
You can learn more about this update and everything it brings to the table in our full news post.
Make Voice Memos more discreet
You can easily tell when someone is recording audio via their iPhone’s Voice Memos app because a waveform gets displayed on the Lock Screen as well as a Status Bar indicator to go along with that.
The new discreetVoiceMemos jailbreak tweak helps hide these features so that you can discreetly use the Voice Memos app to capture audio recordings without being noticed.

Akara updated for rootless
Akara, a popular jailbreak tweak for transforming the look and feel of the Control Center interface on jailbroken devices, received an update this past week that added support for rootless iOS & iPadOS 15 and 16 jailbreaks.
The latest update is free to existing owners of the tweak, but to learn more about where you can get this tweak from and its price, we recommend visiting our full news post.
