Where’s Andy? July 2020

Hello everyone! We’re halfway through July, and it’s already been a very busy month for me. I’m behind on my monthly edition of “Where’s Andy?”—I’ve already knocked out two presentations this month but still have two more to go!

Debuting a New Session!

I’d like to call out the PASS Performance Marathon on July 23rd. I am thrilled to be debuting a brand-new session: Advanced Plan Explorer Usage for Tuning Execution Plans.

I want to be up front and note that although I work for SentryOne, this session is being built as a community session with zero sales/marketing content. Not only is Plan Explorer a completely free tool, but this session is also not meant to convince you to try it out—my intended audience is existing users of Plan Explorer.

I was inspired to develop this presentation after PASS Summit 2019, where I did a joint Plan Explorer session with Kevin Kline. During that session, I covered some more advanced topics and I received a lot of anecdotal feedback that people wanted more advanced Plan Explorer content.

I was originally going to debut this session at DataGrillen 2020, but we all know what happened that derailed that idea.
