In advance of the Azure SQL Database Managed Instance release to Public Preview, SentryOne announced monitoring support for Managed Instance in SQL Sentry, so companies can gather actionable performance metrics on SQL Servers running on Managed Instance.
Moving to Managed Instance is a great option for organizations that want to transition some workloads to the cloud without the cost and time commitments of a wholesale move to the cloud—and without giving up some of the features of on-premises SQL Server. Managed Instance is especially appealing to companies with massive data estates and complicated data architecture.
