Announcing SQL Vacation 2018!

It’s hard to believe that SQL Vacation is turning four this year. A lot can happen in four years, or even just in one. For example, just this year, we acquired Pragmatic Works Software, we’re finishing preparations for a giant new office space, and we opened an EMEA office in Ireland. There are more changes ahead of us, and one small one would be where SQL Vacation 2018 is headed.

Using the National Lampoon Vacation movies as inspiration for a fun riff, my family (a.k.a. “The Horde”) and I have loaded up the truckster and traveled throughout the Midwest and Southeast of the United States. At each stop, I get together with the local PASS chapter to present about SQL Server technologies. This year, we have decided to go in a different direction, literally, to the Northeast.

Starting in D.C. and ending in Boston, we’ll take charge of the Northeast, going to four different locations in hopes of our most intimate SQL Vacation yet. The Horde will now be able to answer the most important philosophic questions of life such as … who has the best pizza — NYC or Chicago? Or who has the best seafood — Maryland or New England? What say you???

It only takes 4 of the 7 members of The Horde to tax my patience.

Be sure to check out the SQL Vacation 2018 web page for information on our contest, prizes, and to join our fun on social media. Oh, and don’t forget you’ll need to register at each individual SQL Server user group’s website.

Check out the full itinerary below. If you’re on the route, I hope to see you at one of the user group meetings!
