Lodash _.deburr() Method

Lodash is a JavaScript library that works on the top of underscore.js. Lodash helps in working with arrays, strings, objects, numbers, etc. 

The _.deburr() method is used to convert Latin-1 Supplement and Latin Extended-A letters to basic Latin letters and removing combining diacritical marks.

Syntax:

_.deburr([string=''])

Parameters: This method accepts single parameter as mentioned above and described below:

  • string: This parameter holds the Latin-1 Supplement and Latin Extended-A letters string.

Return Value: This method returns the basic Latin letters string.

Example 1:

Javascript




const _ = require('lodash'); 
  
var str1 = _.deburr("ÀÄÅÆÇÈÉ");
console.log(str1);
  
var str2 = _.deburr("ãäåæçè");
console.log(str2);


Output:

"AAAAeCEE"
"aaaaece"

Example 2:

const _ = require('lodash'); 
  
var str1 = _.deburr("ĜĚĔĶŜ");
console.log(str1);
  
var str2 = _.deburr("ĝęėķś");
console.log(str2);


Output:

"GEEKS"
"neveropen"
