Fabric.js Textbox centeredRotation Property

In this article, we are going to see how to disable the centered rotation of canvas Textbox using FabricJS. The canvas means Textbox is movable and can be stretched according to requirement. Further, the Textbox can be customized when it comes to initial stroke color, fill color, stroke width, or radius.

Approach:

  • To make it possible, we are going to use a JavaScript library called FabricJS.
  • After importing the library using CDN, we will create a canvas block in the body tag which will contain our Textbox.
  • After this, we will initialize instances of Canvas and Textbox provided by FabricJS and enable/disable the centered rotation of canvas Textbox using centeredRotation property and render the Textbox on the Canvas as given in the example below.

Syntax:

fabric.Textbox('text', {
   centeredRotation: boolean
});

Parameters: This function accepts one parameter as mentioned above and described below:

  • centeredRotation: It specifies whether to enable or disable centered rotation.

Example: This example uses FabricJS to disable the centered rotation of canvas-like Textbox as given below.

            width: 450,
            centeredRotation: true
