Putting your iPhone into this mode should be used as a last resort – if your iPhone is either stuck on the Apple logo or keeps rebooting. Restoring the iPhone from DFU mode erases it, so any info on it will be lost.

How to put your iPhone 6S or below into DFU mode
1) Connect your iPhone to a computer using a USB cable.
2) Hold the Home button and the Lock button at the same time for 8 seconds.
3) Release the Lock button while continuing to hold down the Home button. iTunes pops up a message saying that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. At this point, click OK, then click Restore in iTunes.
How to put your iPhone 7 into DFU mode
1) Connect your iPhone to a computer using a USB cable.
2) Hold the Side button and the Volume Down button at the same time for 5 seconds.
3) Release the Side button while continuing to hold down the Home button. iTunes pops up a message saying that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. At this point, click OK, then click Restore in iTunes.
How to put your iPhone 8 or higher into DFU mode
1) Connect your iPhone to a computer using a USB cable.
2) Quickly press the Volume Up button.
3) Quickly press the Volume Down button.
4) Hold down the Side button until the screen goes black, then hold down the Side button and the Volume Down button.
5) After 5 seconds, release the Side button while continuing to hold down the Volume Down button. iTunes pops up a message saying that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. At this point, click OK, then click Restore in iTunes.
