The unc0ver jailbreak only just picked up official support for iOS 13.0-13.3 on A12(X)-A13 devices this past weekend. Given just how young the new support is, it’s not overly surprising to learn that there were some bugs that needed to squashed.
In a Tweet shared just this afternoon, Pwn20wnd announced the release of an updated version of the unc0ver jailbreak dubbed version 4.0.3 with important bug fixes:
Citing the change log published on Pwn20wnd’s official GitHub page, unc0ver v4.0.3 incorporates the following changes:
02/19/2020 – v4.0.0 was released for production with the following changes:
– Fully fix App Store on A12-A13
– Fix a bug that affected system services on A12-A13
– Improve the exploit reliability by guiding the user on proper use
Worthy of note, this update appears to resolve a rather prominent issue relating to the App Store that several users had reported. In an earlier Tweet, Pwn20wnd revealed that the issue was being caused by a bug in Substitution support, and that fixing it appeared to resolve the issue:
If you’re using an earlier version of unc0ver, then you’re strongly advised to upgrade to the latest release. This involves downloading the latest version of the jailbreak tool from the official unc0ver.dev website and deploying it with either Cydia Impactor, AltStore, or Xcode.
If you haven’t used unc0ver for your A12(X)-A13 device on iOS 13.0-13.3 yet, then you should be safe to go ahead with it. There’ve been enough updates since the initial release that the most problematic bugs have been dealt with. Smaller bugs will likely be fixed in upcoming updates, so you can optionally continue waiting for further stability.
Please note that A11 and older devices are not supported by this version of unc0ver. If you have one of these devices, you can use the checkra1n jailbreak instead.
