It’s always convenient to have quick access to your favorite apps from anywhere, and that’s the primary reason why application launcher extensions have been so popular among jailbreakers over the years. Given their apparent popularity, it only seems fair that we turn the spotlight to a newly released and free jailbreak tweak dubbed Rofi by iOS developer Kef.
As depicted in the screenshot example above, Rofi hides away on the edge your iOS device’s display as a tab. Once ready to summon the application launcher, users need only tap on the aforementioned tab to view and interact with all the apps hidden within.
Just as you’d come to expect from an application launcher tweak, the interface and its usability is fully configurable. Once installed, users will find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where they can configure the tweak to their liking:
Here, you can:
- Toggle Rofi on or off on demand
- Choose the apps that appear in Rofi
- Configure how many apps are allowed to appear in Rofi
- Choose a preferred color for the Rofi tab
- Enable the ability to move Rofi around
- Adjust the slider height
- Adjust the slider width
- Adjust the slider visibility
- Enable a custom timeout before Rofi disappears
- Adjust how long the timeout period will last
Users will need to Respring their device to save any changes they make. Fortunately, the developer includes a convenient Respring button at the top of the preference pane for doing just that.
Those interested in trying Rofi can download it for free from the Chariz repository via their preferred package manager. Users should also note that the libsparkcolorpicker dependency is also required, and that this can only be had from SparkDev’s repository. Rofi supports jailbroken iOS 12 and 13 devices.
