EasyAirplaneDisabler fixes Apple’s antiquated Airplane Mode prompt

As a frequent user of Airplane Mode on my iPhone, I can truthfully say that Apple’s prompt reminding me to disable Airplane Mode before I can access data is a blatant disappointment. With nothing more than a button shortcut to the Settings app and a cancel button to exit the prompt, it makes the process of disabling Airplane Mode rather cumbersome.

Because of this, a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called EasyAirplaneDisabler by iOS developer AnthoPak seems like it would be a no-brainer for any Airplane Mode user. As depicted in the screenshot examples above, EasyAirplaneDisabler replaces the Settings app shortcut button on the left side of the native prompt with a literal Turn Off button.

EasyAirplaneDisabler works exactly how you’d expect it to, with tapping on the Turn Off button immediately toggling Airplane Mode off for you. This skips the rather tedious step of needing to launch the Settings app with the native Settings button and then having to toggle Airplane Mode off on your own with the in-app toggle switch.

From a user’s standpoint, EasyAirplaneDisabler brings functionality that should have been there from the start. Unfortunately, Apple once had the mindset that users should only configure options of this caliber from the Settings app directly; obviously long before things like Control Center came to fruition. With that in mind, the antiquated Airplane Mode prompt is merely residue from this old way of thinking, and it should hopefully be only a matter of time before Apple addresses this…

For now, however, if you’re jailbroken and you’d like to fix this atrocity, then you can download EasyAirplaneDisabler for free from AnthoPak’s repository via your favorite package manager. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 11, 12, 13, and 14 devices and doesn’t have any options to configure. Furthermore, EasyAirplaneDisabler is open source on the developer’s GitHub page.
