BTPower puts a battery level icon in the Status Bar for any connected Bluetooth headset

Some folks have so many Bluetooth peripherals in their possession that keeping track of their battery levels becomes a daunting task. Apple made things a little bit easier by implementing the Battery widget in the Today view, but if you’re anything like me, then you might find it to be more convenient to see that information directly in the Status Bar.

A number of Bluetooth headsets that I’ve used for phone calls in the past already supported Status Bar-centric battery level displays, but not all. A newly-released free jailbreak tweak called BTPower by iOS developer Karimo299 ensures that all your Bluetooth headsets exhibit this behavior for simplified battery level tracking.

As you’ll see in the screenshot examples above, a battery icon appears right beside a small headphone icon in the Status Bar. This indicates the battery level of the connected headset, and it changes in real-time as the headset’s battery drains.

Perhaps more importantly, you’ll see that BTPower plays nicely with other Status Bar-centric jailbreak tweaks, which is evident from the custom carrier icon and the relocated signal strength icons, among other things.

BTPower doesn’t come with any options to configure, which makes using it relatively straightforward. The icon appears when a Bluetooth headset is connected and disappears when the headset is disconnected.

If you’re interested in using BTPower to have an always-visible Bluetooth headset battery display, then you can download the tweak for free from the Packix repository in Cydia or Sileo. BTPower supports jailbroken iOS 11 and 12 devices.

Will you or won’t you be installing BTPower? Let us know along with your reasoning in the comments section below.
