Apple’s iOS & iPadOS 16 announcement at WWDC brought some enhancements to the native Notes app that are sure to interest a lot of people. But many of those new features can already be enjoyed on jaikbroken devices.
With that in mind, we decided to shift our focus for this week’s ‘best jailbreak tweaks for’ series to the Notes app — so this roundup will go over some of the best jailbreak tweaks for jotting things down in the native Notes app in iOS & iPadOS 14.
The best jailbreak tweaks for the Notes app
Notey – FREE
Notey is a convenient note-taking jailbreak tweak that lets the end user take notes from just about anywhere with the help of a floating button that quickly summons a note-taking interface on demand.
The tweak saves time and effort when compared to having to close out of your current app and find the Notes app on your Home Screen, and is perfect for when you’re taken by surprise by someone trying to give you their phone number or other important information that you may need to remember later on.
You can find out more about Notey, including where you can get it from, in our full review post.
Libellum – FREE
Another tweak that lets you take notes conveniently from outside of the Notes app is Libellum, which specifically works with your handset’s Lock Screen to offer quick note-taking when your handset isn’t even unlocked yet.
This wonderful jailbreak tweak is highly configurable and ensures you’re always ready to jot down important information when someone begins muttering it to you.
You can find out more about the things you can do with Libellum in our full review post.
Yuna – FREE
Yuna was made specifically for making better use of the expansive screen real estate of the iPad’s Control Center interface, and one thing that really stood out to us was the section dedicated especially to notes.
With Yuna, you can see content you’ve saved in the Notes app right in your iPadOS 14 Control Center, along with other information that isn’t normally available there.

NotesCreationDate13 – FREE
The NotesCreationDate13 jailbreak tweak allows users to see more detailed information about when notes in the native Notes app were both originally created and last modified.
The information appears at the top of each note, and can be useful if you want to know if someone has been tampering with your notes or if you wanted to know when a note was originally typed up.
This tweak was originally released for iOS & iPadOS 13, however we tested the tweak on iOS & iPadOS 14 and it appears to work exactly how it’s supposed to regardless.
If you’re interested in trying NotesCreationDate13 out for yourself, then you can find out more about the tweak in our full review post.
countingNotes – FREE
Another useful jailbreak tweak for the Notes app is countingNotes, which displays a running count of the number of characters you’ve typed in a particular notes page.
Those who want to be conscious about the number of characters they’re typing for the sake of being concise will find this tweak especially useful, and it plays nicely with the tweak above since it adds the information to the app’s navigation bar.
You can find out more about countingNotes and how it works in our full review post.
