Remove those annoying feedback banners when disliking YouTube videos with this jailbreak tweak

YouTube has been making wild changes to its platform lately, and the removal of the dislike button count really speaks to the disconnect between what users want and what the platform is actually doing.

Another thing that users tend not to enjoy is being inundated with pop-ups when they tap the dislike button, like the one depicted above. Fortunately, iOS developer PoomSmart is out today with a free jailbreak tweak dubbed YTSilentVote that keeps them from appearing.

After you install YTSilentVote, you can tap the dislike button in the YouTube app to your heart’s content without having unnecessary pop-ups come across your screen.

It’s a particularly nice luxury to do away with these pop-ups, as they hold their place on your display for several seconds before disappearing. This means that when they get in your way, they stay in your way for a prolonged period of time.

YTSilentVote is a dead-simple add-on with no options to configure that works with the latest version of the YouTube app, which at the time of this writing, is version 17.06.3.

Please note that any future update could potentially break the tweak, requiring an update to fix. Alternatively, YouTube may do away with the pop-up entirely in a future update, rendering the tweak moot.

If you’re interested in snagging YTSilentVote for your own YouTube shenanigans, then you can download it for free from PoomSmart’s personal repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak supports all jailbroken devices running iOS or iPadOS 11, 12, 13, and 14.

To add PoomSmart’s personal repository to your package manager app, you can use the URL that we’ve included below:

Do you plan to silence those YouTube dislike pop-ups or do they not bother you as much as they do some others? Be sure to let us know in the comments section down below.
