Despite being intended for developers, and yet still used by common users, the availability of iOS & iPadOS 15 jailbreaks such as palera1n and XinaA15 have made it possible for developers to begin updating their jailbreak tweaks for compatibility.
Just this week, we saw some major updates to popular jailbreak tweaks to include iOS & iPadOS 15 support, some of which I tend to consider essentials on my own devices.
Checkl0ck
The Checkl0ck jailbreak tweak was updated to version 1.3.0 this week.
Checkl0ck by iOS developer Foxfort Mobile is a must-have in my opinion, especially if using A9-A11-equipped devices with the palera1n jailbreak. That’s because it lets users have full Face ID or Touch ID authentication capabilities, despite not being officially supported by the jailbreak itself.
The catch, of course, is that a reboot could circumvent the authentication requirements since the tweak depends on a jailbroken state. But honestly, who picks up an iPhone and thinks to reboot it before trying unauthorized entry when a reboot usually triggers the passcode requirement on any ordinary iPhone?
BioProtect XS
Another tweak to boost your handset’s security is BioProtect XS by iOS developer Limneos, who just this week released Dynamic Peninsula to give notched handsets a Dynamic Island-like experience.
BioProtectXS also received an update to version 4.5-46 with preliminary iOS & iPadOS 15 support.
With BioProtect XS, users are able to lock individual apps and interfaces on their device. So if you’re not willing to buy Checkl0ck, this is the next best thing since you can require authentication to get into your most sensitive apps.
CopyLog
CopyLog was updated to version 1.5.6 this week with preliminary support for the XinaA15 jailbreak for A12-A15 devices running iOS 15.0-15.1.1.
The tweak’s name is telling. As a Pasteboard manager tweak, it can be used to manage the contents of your PasteBoard and make accessing information inside of it easier for the end user.
Want to access something you copied or pasted 3 copies or pasted ago instead of the most recent item? This tweak is for you.
Aemulo
Aemulo was updated to version 1.2 this week with its own preliminary iOS 15 support.
Aemulo is a unique type of jailbreak tweak that enables users to play around with their handset’s NFC capabilities.
Among the things you can do with this tweak are reading, writing, and emulating NFC tags.
iDB continuously monitors developments in the jailbreak community, so new tweak releases will always be covered when we think they have a specific benefit to our readers.
So if you’re on iOS or iPadOS 15 and are waiting for the next significant jailbreak tweak, stay tuned!
