TrollStore, the popular utility for perma-signing .ipa files on devices running iOS or iPadOS 14.0-15.4.1 beta 4, has been updated to version 1.1.2 with a minor convenience adjustment that will help users who take advantage of Appleās proprietary AirDrop file-sharing service for installing files.
Project developer Opa334 explained via Twitter that he was getting tired of having to ZIP his .ipa files before sharing them to his TrollStore device via AirDrop, a step that was required since AirDrop doesnāt natively support the .ipa file type. As a result, TrollStore v1.1.2 adds support for the .tipa file type, which is basically an .ipa file that has been renamed with a letter ātā at the start of the file tyle after the period.
By creating a .tipa file type, apps can be AirDropped from one device to another to be easily installed and perma-signed with the TrollStore utility. While it seems like a menial update, several other developers quickly chimed in to praise this change, as they too were apparently plagued by this silly AirDrop limitation on Appleās part.
Based on the change log on the developerās GitHub page, it seems that TrollStore v1.1.2 supports actually opening .tipa files, so this means that users wonāt need to rename .tipa files back to .ipa files after AirDropping them, which seems useful from a user convenience perspective.
In addition to the TrollStore update, Opa334 has pushed a minor update for the TrollStore Helper utility for jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 14.0-14.8.1 devices, which is now available via the Havoc repository in the form of version 1.1.1. According to the change log for this release, TrollStore Helper should now work better on Chinese devices (namely with respect to connectivity issues), and now includes the latest root helper version.
If youāre an existing TrollStore user, then you can update to version 1.1.2 by downloading the update manually via GitHub, or you can use the OTA update mechanism in the TrollStore app itself.
