You may have received word of TrollStar, the newer and more lightweight TrollStore installer that lacks all the additional fluff that comes with using a package manager app to install TrollStore. But as you might recall, it’s only for iOS & iPadOS 16.0-16.6.1 devices.
Helping to bridge the gap for older firmware versions is a new utility called TrollMisaka by the same developer who brought us the Misaka package manager app — @straight_tamago.
According to @straight_tamago, the original intent of TrollMisaka was to provide a TrollStore installation method on versions of iOS & iPadOS 15.x where the MacDirtyCow exploit has been patched — namely iOS & iPadOS 15.7.2-15.8.1.
What the developer later discovered was that the method used by TrollMisaka works on iOS & iPadOS 14.x-15.x too, so in essence, TrollMisaka supports all devices running iOS & iPadOS 14.x to 15.8.1, and it uses an interesting method to do it.
While we have a tutorial coming soon, we can mention that TrollMisaka works by installing a “third-party keyboard” on your iPhone or iPad. After giving the keyboard full system access, you can launch the TrollStore-installer and load it into your preferred system app; I.E. Tips.
All of this happens after sideloading the TrollMisaka app onto your iPhone or iPad with AltStore (Sideloadly isn’t not recommended for this particular install).
Thus far, TrollMisaka has been updated within only a matter of days from version 1.0 beta to version 2.0 beta, with the latter adding iOS & iPadOS 15.7.2-15.8.1 support by way of puaf_landa.
